ESPN producer gives update on Patrick Beverley snub controversy

ESPN’s Malinda Adams wrote on social media on Friday that both the Milwaukee Bucks and Patrick Beverley apologized to her regarding Thursday night’s locker room incident in which the guard refused to let her interview him.
The situation unfolded following Milwaukee’s 120-98 loss against the Indiana Pacers in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. The defeat eliminated the Bucks from the postseason.
While answering questions in a media scrum, Beverley turned to Adams and asked her if she subscribed to his podcast. Adams said she didn’t and he immediately told her that she couldn’t interview him.
When the ESPN producer stayed with the other media members, Beverley pushed her microphone away and said, “Get that mic out of my face please.” Then he added, “Would you move that mic please or just get out (of) the circle please for me please ma’am if you’re not subscribing to my pod. I appreciate it. Thank you.”
Scores of fans and fellow members of the media took to social media both in defense of Adams and to criticize Beverley.
It was a rough night for the Arkansas product, as he also had a heated exchange with a Pacers fan toward the end of the loss.
With under three minutes remaining in regulation and the game’s outcome already decided, an Indiana fan seated behind the Milwaukee bench traded words with Beverley. The fan then tossed the ball to the former second-round pick and Beverley chucked it back at the fan.
