Australian authorities expelled two Indian intelligence operatives in 2020 for being members of a ‘nest of spies’ that attempted to steal sensitive information about defence technology, airport security, and trade relationships.

“I guess the issue here is most Australians and indeed most people across the globe thought that espionage ended at the end of the Cold War and everyone was heading towards a globalised world,” Mr Coyne told Sky News Australia.
“Espionage has been a constant threat.
“I’m probably more surprised that so much detail has come out.”
