İngiltere İçişleri Bakanı James Cleverly, kanser araştırmaları kuruluşu Cancer Research UK için bağış toplamak amacıyla başlatılan Nisan ayında ‘her gün 100 şınav’ kampanyasına desteğini sürdürüyor. İngiliz bakanın eşi, geçtiğimiz yıl meme kanseri ile mücadelesinde galip geldiğini duyurmuştu. İngiltere İçişleri Bakanı, dünyanın en büyük bağımsız kanser araştırma kuruluşlarından Cancer Research UK adına bağış toplamak amacıyla başlatılan kampanyaya ‘her gün 100 şınav’ ile desteğini sürdürüyor. İngiliz bakan, bağış kampanyasının yapıldığı web sitesinde, “Birçoğunuz eşim Susie’ye meme kanseri teşhisi konulduğunu ve tedavi gördüğünü biliyorsunuz. Modern kanser tedavilerinin temelini oluşturan araştırmalar olmasaydı Susie hâlâ aramızda olmazdı.” notunu düştü. James Cleverly, sosyal medya hesabından kampanyaya katılacağını 31 Mart tarihinde duyurmuştu. Nisan ayının ilk gününden itibaren ise şınav çekerken kaydettiği görüntülerini paylaşarak, kampanyaya destek çağrısında bulundu. (Fotoğraf/Instagram: @jamescleverly) İngiliz bakan Aralık 2021’de yaptığı açıklamayla eşi Susie (Susannah) Cleverly’nin meme kanserine yakalandığını duyurdu. Telegraph’ta yer alan habere göre zorlu geçen kanser tedavisi mastektomi, kemoterapi, radyoterapi ve immünoterapi süreçlerinin ardından geçtiğimiz yıl son buldu.
