Wisbech Parkrun supported by Three Counties Running Club members

A bitterly cold and windy Saturday morning saw Three Counties Running Club members support Wisbech Parkrun by doing a volunteer takeover.

Every volunteer role had a TCRC member in place covering jobs like course set-up, marshalling, timekeeping and barcode scanning.

It was great for the club to get involved and support a local event for the community.

There was a slight minor adjustment to the start of the race which meant participants had to run/walk on the grass to minimise and eliminate the risk of falls, slips and trips on the slightly slippery path.

This didn’t deter the 145 joggers and walkers who ventured out.

Not only did TCRC support the race by organising it but also by running it along with club member Victoria May running her 150th parkrun.

There were some fantastic club personal bests and personal achievements.

First home from the club in 2nd place and a CPB was Rickie Trundle 19:49 while Alfie Grant was eighth in 21:23.

Other times: Hayden Kearns 21:35, Phil Newton 22:37 (PB), Jonathan Quail 22:55 (PB), Tracey Else 25:35, Jayne Spurrier 26:14, Dawn Goodley 26:44, Victoria May and Donna Johnson 27:25, Zoe Gourley and Matt Hunter 29:42, Laura Vincent 28:43, AJ Harris 31:12, Ewa Szczygielska 32:18, Martin Jackson 32:26PB, Sally Fawkes 33:57, Keith White and Lorraine Parker (run/ walk volunteer) 42:53, Tracy Pratt (park walk volunteer) 57:09 and Sarah Lamb (tail walker volunteer) 59:08.

Rachael Elliot

Elsewhere, club member Rachael Elliot took part in her furthest run at Reedham.

Elliot took on the Reedham 10-mile race on a brutally cold and windy morning.

The 10-mile race hosted by Great Yarmouth and District Running Club is a road race with a grass finish and quite a few hills.

She had a fantastic run, finishing with a PB of 2:00:33.
