Jedd Fisch
Washington has moved quickly to hire a new head coach after Kalen DeBoer’s departure and it sounds like they only considered one candidate.
Jedd Fisch has agreed to a deal to become the new head coach at Washington, according to multiple reports.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel relayed Sunday that Fisch was Washington’s top target and the only candidate with whom school officials had made contact.
Fisch just finished his third season as the head coach at Arizona. He engineered a remarkable turnaround with the program, leading the Wildcats to a 10-3 record last season after they went 5-7 in 2022 and 1-11 in 2021.
Fisch also has experience in the Big Ten, having served as Jim Harbaugh’s passing game coordinator at Michigan in 2015 and 2016. That could prove valuable as Washington moves to the conference in 2024.
Washington made it to the College Football Playoff championship game this season, but they will have some rebuilding to do now that DeBoer has left to become the head coach at Alabama.
