Ah, Mr Goldsmith - we've been expecting this! After shock collapse of 'close friendship' with Ellie Goulding, Tory peer Zac is spotted moving on with model and socialite whose great-uncle was Bond author Ian Fleming

The collapse of his ‘close friendship’ with singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding came as a surprise, especially when pictures emerged last week of her frolicking with a hunky surfing instructor.

But after two years of stop-start with married Ellie, Tory peer Zac Goldsmith is moving on – with model and socialite Hum Fleming, 34, whose great-uncle was James Bond author Ian Fleming.

‘Zac thinks she’s wonderful,’ said a source. ‘They have been together for seven weeks but he is obviously mad about her and wants it to work out this time.’

On Thursday evening, father-of-six Zac, 49, introduced Hum to his two eldest children for the first time over dinner at Mayfair haunt 5 Hertford Street.

Next morning, Zac and Hum were seen leaving his £5 million Holland Park house, then taking a stroll before returning.

Last night, Zac’s spokesman confirmed: ‘They are an item.’

Ellie, 37, also has a new relationship – with surf instructor Armando Perez in Costa Rica.

Friends said Zac, newly divorced from his second wife Alice Rothschild, was in Costa Rica a few weeks ago to show Ellie some land he had bought. But they had a spat and cancelled the meeting.

Zac’s friends said he had ‘lost patience’ with Ellie who he feels was not always entirely honest about whether her marriage of four years to art dealer Caspar Jopling, 32, was over.

‘The lights are well and truly out on the relationship with Ellie,’ said one friend.

Society bible Tatler, meanwhile, calls Hum, short for Hermione, ‘gorgeous, vivacious and fun’, possessing ‘an inherent glamour and mystery that comes from being a great-niece of Ian Fleming’.

She and her twin Chloe were born into the Fleming private banking dynasty, once run by their father Roddie, which manages the wealth of Britain’s super-rich.

Leeds University graduate Hum has a rare type of epilepsy and suffers regular seizures. She has had no lasting memories since the age of 13 when she had her first seizure.

A scar on the hippocampus in her brain prevents her from being able to store long-term and spatial memory.

This type of amnesia is called ‘accelerated forgetting’ and means she can only accurately recall the previous six months of her life.

A source said: ‘Hum isn’t allowed to drive and has to shower with the bathroom door open in case she has a seizure.

‘Luckily she has now found Zac, who can be her knight in shining armour.’
