where to watch this weekend's wsl games

BBC Two’s coverage of Arsenal v Tottenham starts at 12:30 on Sunday, with kick-off at 12:30. All times are GMT

There is a north London derby on the horizon as the Women’s Super League returns this weekend after the international break.

Arsenal, who were beaten in the last derby, host Tottenham at Emirates Stadium at 12:30 GMT on Sunday in a match which will be shown live on the BBC.

There is also a big game in the relegation battle as the bottom two face each other with Bristol City hosting Brighton.

Manchester City and Chelsea, level on points at the top, play Everton and Leicester respectively.

Here’s what’s coming up in the WSL this weekend and how you can watch every game.

All kick-off times are GMT.

Man City v Everton – Saturday, 12:00 – Sky Sports

The league is poised for an exciting title race after City beat Chelsea to go level on points at the top of the table before the international break.

Gareth Taylor’s side kick off this weekend’s action when they welcome ninth-placed Everton to the Joie Stadium.

The Toffees, who won 2-0 at home to West Ham in their last game, were beaten 4-1 in December in the reverse fixture.

City have won their past 11 games in all competitions – will they extend that record?

Arsenal v Tottenham – Sunday, 12:30 – BBC Two & iPlayer

After a shock defeat by West Ham and being knocked out of the FA Cup by Man City in February, Arsenal recorded a 3-1 win over Manchester United before the break.

They are three points off the top but have lost three times in the league and no team has ever lost more than two games and won the title.

One of those three defeats came against Spurs, who won 1-0 in December. However they haven’t won in the past three league games.

Arsenal have got themselves back on track, Spurs will want to correct their form in the league. Will they pull off another unexpected win on Sunday?

Bristol City are bottom of the WSL with one win from 14 games so far

Bristol City v Brighton – Sunday, 14:00 – FA Player

Bristol City, who returned to the WSL this season, are bottom of the league and they’re quickly running out of time to close the gap.

One place – and five points – above them in the league are a Brighton side who won the reverse fixture 3-2 with a 95th-minute goal.

Brighton are still searching for a permanent manager, having sacked Melissa Phillips in February. They’re yet to win in the league without her.

Aston Villa v Liverpool – Sunday, 14:00 – FA Player

Aston Villa were tipped by many to be in the mix with the teams near the top of the table but that crown has been stolen by Liverpool this season.

The Reds sit just two points behind fourth-placed Manchester United and are six points ahead of eighth-placed Aston Villa.

Both sides come into this one off the back of wins in their last league games, with Liverpool having beaten Brighton and Villa having got the better of Tottenham.

West Ham v Man Utd – Sunday, 15:00 – FA Player

Manchester United have a big task at hand if they’re to somehow find a way to reach the Champions League qualification places.

While they’re fourth in the league, they trail third-placed Arsenal by seven points with just eight games remaining.

Earning a spot in Europe is out of the Red Devils’ hands, all they can do is continue to pick up points and hope others drop them.

Out to stop them will be a West Ham side who have their recent triumph over Arsenal still in the back of their minds, albeit with a defeat by Everton coming in their most recent game.

Leicester City v Chelsea – Sunday, 18:00 – Sky Sports

It is incredibly tight at the top of the WSL, and Chelsea need to at least match Manchester City for the rest of the season if they are to be successful in their hunt for a fifth successive league title.

They lead the division on goals scored and can’t afford any more slip-ups in the final few months. They could well drop to second given City’s game is on Saturday and will have a chance to reclaim the top spot at Leicester.

The Blues come into this game off the back of that defeat by their title rivals, though, and suffered an injury blow during the international break when striker Mia Fishel tore her anterior cruciate ligament.

British record signing Mayra Ramirez has made three appearances in the league since joining in January but is yet to score. Will she get off the mark in Sunday’s late game?

They’re up against a Leicester City side who will be full of confidence after beating Bristol City 5-2, but history is on Chelsea’s side with the Blues having won the reverse fixture 5-2.

You can listen to Chelsea’s game against Leicester on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra from 17:45 GMT.
