A woman has revealed she can earn up to £4,000 a month from social media – but refuses to give up her council house.

Whitney Ainscough, 30, from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, has recently witnessed a boom in her social media following, meaning she can rake in thousands of pounds each month.

Previously, Whitney lived off Universal Credit. But now her finances have improved, meaning she can undergo expensive beauty enhancements and go on luxury holidays.

Despite earning her keep, Whitney regularly receives backlash from critics claiming she buys luxuries with benefits.

However, in conversation with The Sun, the mother-of-three revealed that she can make up to £4,000 a month from social media work.

Whitney, who has three children called Cora, 11, Addison, six, and Adley, two, said that she used to work in the pharmacy sector for seven years but later went on to Universal Credit after having her third child.

‘While I was universal credit, I was earning next to nothing obviously,’ which is why she started to learn social media.

‘I started that and now it’s become a source of my income. I’m self-employed through it, I’m projected [to earn] well over £100,000 this year,’ she said.

After causing a storm online with her content, Whitney has enjoyed a ‘luxury’ lifestyle.

She recently had a gastric sleeve in Egypt and plans to have plenty more treatments, including a tummy tuck and a breast reduction.

Whitney, who claimed she is clever with money, added that she is completely unfazed by the trolling that argues she is spending government-provided money on such luxuries.

She said: ‘I love it, it gets me paid and I don’t have to leave my house. I mean today, I’ve already earned £200 and I haven’t left my a*** and it’s dinner time.’

Despite earning plenty of money from social media, Whitney has refused to give up her council house and hopes to acquire a larger four-bed council house soon. Her current rent stands at £450 a month.

It comes after Whitney revealed her dismay after forking out £100 to buy her daughter the very best designer shoes for the new school term – only to be told they don’t conform to the uniform policy.

In a clip shared on TikTok, Whitney explained how she had bought the Vivienne Westwood pumps for her 11-year-old daughter who has just started in Year 7 – but has been left angry after receiving the message from the school.

In the 28-second video on her channel, which uses the handle @itsmebadmom, Whitney said she was ‘fuming’ about the decision.

She added that she will now have to buy her daughter a new pair of school shoes, even though she argues the fashion choice has no effect on her child’s ability to learn.

Whitney’s anger left viewers divided, with some jumping to her defence as they agreed a pupil’s choice of school shoes makes no difference to the quality of their education, whereas others said she should have read the uniform policy correctly in the first place.

Speaking in the video, which has amassed 145,000 views, Whitney stands in a field and tells her followers: ‘So I’ve spent £100 on some shoes she cannot wear. Quite a bit fuming’.

‘It’s only a pair of f*****g Vivienne Westwoods! What’s the problem?’ The frustrated mother adds: ‘But no, so now she’s got to have different shoes. I mean, I’d understand if she was affected the learning, but it doesn’t, so, yeah’.

After watching the clip, fans were curious as to what the shoes in question looked like – leading the mother to film another clip to explain.

In the second clip, Whitney held up the black, patent flat shoes to the screen alongside a photo of her daughter.

She slammed the unnamed school’s decision: ‘It’s absolutely ridiculous that she can’t wear these’.

Whitney explained she had decided to spend more money on her daughter’s shoes to mark the special occasion that she was starting secondary school.

‘You know, as a mum, you can spend 10 pound on shoes, you can pay 100 pound on shoes, but that’s the choice I made,’ she said.

She quipped: ‘What’s the problem? She’s not gonna have a different education because of the pair of f*****g shoes!’
