UK snow maps show exactly when and where winter's 'final fling' will hit

Weather experts have warned some parts of the country could be hit by more snow as the ‘final fling’ of winter is on its way.

Senior Meteorologist Jim Dale of British Weather Services said that the UK can expect one last wave of ‘wintriness’ before we move towards spring. He said: “This one keeps moving around but it all gets going between February 22 and 23. Much colder, frosts… and some snow for some, mainly for the north.” He hinted: “Winter will then very likely be having its last fling!”.

Huddersfield, Harrogate, Leeds, Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales are some of those places that could be hit by more snow next week. Snow maps by WXCharts show that Yorkshire ‘s ‘final fling’ of winter is forecast to hit the country next Thursday (February 22).

The dark purple on the WXCharts snow map shows snow is forecast to hit parts of West and North Yorkshire on Thursday, with some parts of the region continuing to see light snowfall on Friday and into Saturday.
