Ahmedabad: Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates visited the Statue of Unity, world’s tallest statue, located in Gujarat’s Kevadia, during his visit to India. The statue is dedicated to freedom fighter and Independent India’s first Deputy PM and Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the statue is 182 metres tall.

Taking to X, Bill Gates wrote,” Thank you Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the invitation to visit the impressive Statue of Unity. It is an engineering marvel and a great tribute to Sardar Patel. Also great to see it is creating economic opportunity for local tribal communities, especially women.”

Sharing the video of his visit to Statue of Unity on Instagram, Bill Gates wrote,” Wow! I had a colossal visit to the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue. Thank you Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the invitation to visit this engineering marvel and thanks Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to your government for hosting me.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates in New Delhi. After the meeting PM Modi termed it ‘a wonderful meeting’. The Prime Minister said that it was a delight to discuss sectors that will make the Earth a better place.

Responding to Bill Gates’s tweet, PM Modi said, “A wonderful meeting indeed! Always a delight to discuss sectors which will make our planet better and empower millions of people across the globe. @BillGates.”

The Prime Minister held talks on Artificial Intelligence, agriculture and health sectors. The Microsoft co-founder said that it was always inspiring to meet with PM Modi.

“It is always inspiring to meet with @narendramodi and there was a lot to discuss. We talked about AI for public good; DPI; women-led development; innovation in agriculture, health, and climate adaptation; and how we can take lessons from India to the world. @PMOIndia,” Gates tweeted.
