Corea del Sur se ha convertido en las últimas décadas en toda una referencia tecnológica y cultural a nivel mundial. Industrias que no dejan de crecer en el país asiático y que, en cierta forma, van de la mano. Durante muchos años la industria del videojuego coreana ha estado centrada especialmente en los juegos de ordenador, con el género MMORPG y compañías como NCSoft siendo toda una referencia, a lo que en los últimos tiempos también se ha incluido la industria de juegos para dispositivos móviles. Ahora, el Ministerio de Cultura quiere centrarse en fomentar el sector de juegos de consola durante los próximos cinco años para así reactivar la industria del videojuego en el país.

La industria del videojuego surcoreana busca ampliar su cuota en el mercado mundial de juegos de consola de aquí a 2028, tratando así de reducir su enorme dependencia en juegos online y para dispositivos móviles. Videojuegos como Stellar Blade y Lies of P han mostrado al mundo el enorme potencial y talento que tiene Corea del Sur, y es que el videojuego es también un gran impulso cultural para que más personas se sientan atraídas la cultura y todo lo que puede ofrecer Corea del Sur. Es por ello que el Ministerio de Cultura, Deporte y Turismo quiere trabajar y convertir al país asiático en un gigante del videojuego en consola.

Corea del Sur pretende ser un gigante del videojuego a nivel mundial

El plan del Ministerio de Cultura, Deporte y Turismo de Corea del Sur con la industria del videojuego es el siguiente:

  • Objetivo de ampliar la participación del país en el mercado mundial de juegos de consola para 2028.
  • Reducir la gran dependencia de las plataformas de juegos móviles y online.
  • Corea del Sur tiene la cuarta industria de videojuegos más grande del mundo.
  • La participación de Corea del Sur en el mercado mundial de consolas es tan solo del 1,5 %
  • El gobierno de Corea del Sur ayudará a las empresas nacionales a cooperar con las principales empresas mundiales de videojuegos de consola, como Microsoft, Sony y Nintendo, para desarrollar títulos de enorme éxito.

Los últimos títulos lanzados por estudios surcoreanos destacan por su enorme calidad y personalidad, siendo en muchos casos lanzamientos que aportan frescura y dinamismo a la industria. Tratar de ir a más solo puede ser visto como una gran noticia para todos los jugadores.
