‘about 20 indians stuck in russia’, confirms mea, says ‘trying best to get them discharged’
New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday confirmed that about 20 Indians are stuck in Russia. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the ministry is trying its best to get the Indians stuck in Russia discharged from their duties.
“We have an understanding that 20-odd people are stuck. We are trying our level best for their early discharge. We have issued two statements which you saw. We’ve also told people not to venture into the war zone or get caught into situations which are difficult,” Jaiswal said.
The MEA spokesperson further added that the ministry is in touch with Russian authorities both here in New Delhi and also in Moscow regarding this matter.
Notably, the families of the 20-odd Indians stuck in Russia alleged that they were hired for different jobs but were now forced to serve in the Russian Army and wanted to come back
