Der Niederländer hat in Miami wieder alles im Griff. Erst gewinnt der Weltmeister den Formel-1-Sprint, dann auch die Qualifikation für das Hauptrennen.

Gewinnt das Sprintrennen und die Qualifikation beim GP von Miami: Max Verstappen m Red Bull.

WM-Spitzenreiter Max Verstappen hat sich die Pole-Position für das Rennen in Miami gesichert. Der Red-Bull-Pilot liess am späten Samstagabend (Schweizer Zeit) seinen Ferrari-Rivalen Charles Leclerc hinter sich und holte sich erstmals auf der Strecke in Florida den besten Startplatz für den Grand Prix. In den vergangenen beiden Jahren hatte der Niederländer das Rennen jeweils gewonnen, aber nie die Pole-Position erobert. Dritter der Qualifikation wurde Carlos Sainz im zweiten Ferrari.

Für die beiden Sauber-Piloten Valtteri Bottas und Zhou Guanyu war die Zeitenjagd nach Q1 beendet. Der Finne Bottas wurde 16., sein chinesischer Teamkollege belegte den 20. und letzten Rang.

In der WM-Gesamtwertung liegt der dreimalige Weltmeister Verstappen nach vier Siegen in den ersten fünf Saisonrennen klar vorn. Der 26-Jährige ist auch für das Miami-Gastspiel am Sonntag (22 Uhr) wieder klarer Favorit.

Auch der Sprintsieg geht an Verstappen

Am Samstagnachmittag hatte Verstappen auch das zweite Formel-1-Sprintrennen der Saison gewonnen. Der Seriensieger verwies Leclerc trotz einiger Probleme mit seinem Auto auf den zweiten Platz. Dritter wurde Verstappens Stallgefährte Sergio Pérez. Verstappen baute damit seinen Vorsprung im WM-Klassement weiter aus. Auch den ersten Sprint des Jahres in Shanghai hatte der Triple-Champion zuletzt für sich entschieden.
