Labor govt 'jeopardising Australia's security and prosperity': Credlin

Sky News host Peta Credlin says the Albanese government is “jeopardising” Australia’s security and prosperity.

“It’s failing to contribute to the allied strength needed to stand up to dictatorships on the march, whether it’s the Russian militarists in Ukraine, the Islamists in the Middle East, or the communists across the Taiwan Strait,” she said.

“And the Albanese government’s emissions obsession means that your electricity bills will keep going through the roof, and its union loyalty means that productivity, and ultimately, your standard of living, is going backwards.

“The strengths of the Liberal campaign in Dunkley were that they had a good candidate in local three-time mayor Nathan Conroy, and a focus on sending a message to Canberra about cost of living.

“Personally, I reckon there could have been more of a focus on Labor’s coming carbon tax on cars, the emissions rules on car-makers, that are going make Ute drivers subsidise EV drivers, even though most EVs are still actually coal-fired cars.”

She said still, Peter Dutton can be “reasonably satisfied” that his message is resonating with aspirational Australians.
