A vasúttársaság óvatosságból jobbnak látta a teljes szerelvény cseréjét. A járat – a hüllővel – Nagojából érkezett a japán fővárosba, és Oszakába folytatta volna útját. A hatszáz utas lekászálódott a szerelvényről, és türelmesen várt a másikra.

Érkezése után mindannyian újra elfoglalták a helyüket a pótlóvonaton, majd a japán vasutak történelmében példátlan késés után a sinkanszen végre folytatta útját.

Ilyen lesz a MÁV 2226-ban

– mondta a szóvivő.

A sinkanszenek átlagsebessége most 285 km/óra. Az átlagos eltérésük a menetrendtől 0,2 perc, vagyis 12 másodperc.

A sinkanszen járatok egyik szolgáltatója, a Cukuba Express társaság 2017-ben sűrű bocsánatkérések közepette kért elnézést az utasoktól, miután az egyik szerelvénye 20 másodperccel korábban gördült ki a pályaudvarról.

Ehhez képest a kígyó okozta pánik tényleg példa nélküli.

A csúszómászó megtalálása, befogása, a hatszáz utas leszállítása, a szerelvény lecserélése, majd a hatszáz fegyelmezett utas beszállása poggyásszal az új sinkanszenbe 17 (tizenhét) perces késést okozott.
