Edi Rama zum dritten Mal in Folge Regierungschef in Albanien

Das Parlament in Tirana hat den Chef der Sozialistischen Partei (PS), Edi Rama, zum dritten Mal in Folge zum Ministerpräsidenten Albaniens gewählt.

Bei dem Votum am frühen Freitagmorgen stimmten 77 von 140 Abgeordneten für Rama und sein Kabinett, berichtete der Fernsehsender Top Channel.

53 Volksvertreter stimmten dagegen, einer enthielt sich der Stimme. Die Sozialisten hatten bei der Parlamentswahl im letzten April eine absolute Mehrheit errungen und können somit alleine regieren.

Ramas neue Regierung fällt durch einen hohen Frauenanteil auf. Zwölf der 17 Minister und Staatssekretäre sind Frauen. Aussenministerin bleibt Olta Xhacka, die das Amt im letzten Januar übernahm und davor Verteidigungsministerin war. In seiner Regierungserklärung bekannte sich Rama in der Nacht zum Freitag zu drei Schwerpunkten: Infrastrukturprojekte, Bekämpfung der Corona-Pandemie und Behebung der Schäden des Erdbebens von Ende 2019. “Das sind Vorhaben, die zu 100 Prozent machbar sind”, sagte er.

Oppositionsführer Lulzim Basha von der rechten Demokratischen Partei (PD) warf Rama in der Debatte vor, die Demokratie in Albanien zu “liquidieren”. Er bezog sich auf Berichte internationaler Wahlbeobachter, die die Einmischung staatlicher Stellen in den Wahlkampf und Stimmenkauf bei der April-Wahl beanstandeten. Vom Westen angestossene Reformen hatten allerdings diese Missstände im Vergleich zu vorangegangenen Wahlen reduziert.

Rama (57), ein akademisch ausgebildeter Künstler, ist seit 2005 Vorsitzender der PS. Seit 2013 regiert er als Ministerpräsident. Von 2000 bis 2011 war er Bürgermeister der Hauptstadt Tirana. Albanien ist seit 2009 Mitglied der Nato und strebt eine Mitgliedschaft in der EU an. Im Vorjahr gab die EU grünes Licht für Beitrittsverhandlungen.
