Vic Fangio is set to sign a deal to become the Philadelphia Eagles’ next defensive coordinator, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Fangio, who parted ways with the Miami Dolphins after one season as defensive coordinator, rejoins the Eagles after spending the 2022 season as a defensive consultant.
Philadelphia, which lost six of its final seven games to end the season — including a 32-9 Wild Card Round loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — fired defensive coordinator Sean Desai after the playoff loss.
The Eagles finished the season 26th in the league in yards allowed per game (356.1) and 30th in the league in points allowed per game (25.2).
Under Fangio, Miami’s defense finished 10th (318.3) and 22nd in those two categories, respectively. The Dolphins bowed out of the postseason with a 26-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Wild Card Weekend.
