tamil film industry cheers 23-year-old woman who becomes first civil judge from tribal community

Many actors and directors from the Tamil film industry, including actors G V Prakash, Ashok Selvan, Yogi Babu, Manikandan, and Cheran, have hailed the efforts of Sripathy, a 23-year-old tribal woman, who today made history by becoming the first civil judge from her community.

What makes Sripathy’s efforts noteworthy is that she took the exam conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission just two days after delivering her child. Sripathy, who hails from Puliyur village in Tiruvannamalai district, travelled all the way to Chennai to take the exam. The youngster, who has undergone training for a period of six months, today turned a civil judge.

Sharing a picture of Sripathy with her child on his platform X timeline, actor Ashok Selvan wrote, “Tamil Nadu’s first tribal woman judge! So happy and proud! Congratulations!”

National Award-winning music director and actor G V Prakash, too, applauded the achievement of the judge.

Sharing news of her success on social media, G V Prakash cited a Thirukural that stressed the significance of education.

He wrote, “கேடில் விழுச்செல்வம் கல்வி யொருவற்கு மாடல்ல மற்றை யவை” (which means, the only wealth that cannot be diminished is education.)
