Ducati as MotoE supplier ‘will be a challenge’, assures Claudio Domenicali
This will be the first season from Ducati in supplying the bikes for the (now) MotoE world championship and that will be a tremendous challenge for the italian manufacturer, as Claudio Domenicali himself told in the category presentation at Vallelunga.
The CEO of the Borgo Panigale factory addressed the subject, saying that this will be a time for the brand to study the future of the bike: ‘Having 18 riders with different needs and riding styles on the track at the same time represents a great opportunity for Ducati to study what could become the character of a future electric Ducati’.
Domenicali also said this will be a big ‘challenge’ for the manufacturer, and that the first competitive exits on track already proved to be quite good, with great lap times even resulting in a record:
– The first tests in Jerez went very well. Despite unfavourable weather, the feedback on the bike from the riders and teams was very good, with the new unofficial circuit record. Ducati has never built such a large number of prototypes and this too represents a challenge within a challenge for us.
