Dubai will be ‘world’s airport’ with Rs 2.9 lakh crore project: 5 things to know
Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Sunday said that Dubai will be the “world’s airport, its port, its urban hub, and new global centre”, as he announced a new airport project worth nearly 35 billion US Dollars (Rs 2.9 lakh crore).
The new airport will be called the Al Maktoum International Airport and will boast five parallel runways, a capacity to host 260 million passengers and 400 aircraft gates.Â
As the Dubai ruler made the announcement in a post on X, he said that the new project would ensure “continuous and stable development for our children and their children in turn”.
