Tyler Bey refuses to panic as Magnolia faces must-win Game Six

TYLER Bey feels no pressure on the part of Magnolia despite now needing to win two in a row to deny San Miguel the PBA Commissioner’s Cup championship.

“No pressure. We just have to come out, do what we did the last two games before this game,” said Bey, cool, calm, and collected after a 108-98 loss to San Miguel in Game 5 of the finals on Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The confidence stemmed from the Hotshots’ coming back from 0-2 down in the best-of-seven series with back-to-back wins in Games 3 and 4.

“I feel good about this conference. I mean we came back from 0-2, we can do it again, we can win two more games. Why not?” said the former NBA player, who finished with 34 points and eight rebounds.

For that to happen though, Bey said the Hotshots need not allow any of the Beermen to score 30 points against them as what Jericho Cruz did to them on Sunday night.

The former Adamson stalwart torched San Miguel behind an 8-of-14 shooting from beyond the arc.

“We can’t just let guys go off for 30. We gotta respect everybody on their team,” said Bey.

“I just feel like we didn’t respect them today. And that’s our problem.”

But Bey has enough confidence in the Hotshots not to panic at this point.

“We’re a great team. I don’t feel like our backs are against the wall,” he said. “Obviously were down. They got one more to go but I believe in this team.”
