Benni McCarthy’s big message to Bafana bosses
Is Benni McCarthy ever going to coach Bafana Bafana? It’s possible but he won’t wait forever.
BENNI MCCARTHY ON COACHING BAFANA BAFANA
There’s no question McCarthy’s value has skyrocketed since joining Manchester United in 2023.
Despite Hugo Broos’ impressive run at Afcon 2023, McCarthy remains linked with the Bafana job soon.
Speaking to iDiskiTimes, the former Seven Stars, Ajax Amsterdam, FC Porto, West Ham, and Orlando Pirates striker admitted his ambition to coach Bafana.
Unlike Broos, Benni is not willing to wait for the opportunity until his 70th birthday.
LIMITED WAIT
“Listen. I don’t want to be Hugo Broos’ age when I take the Bafana job!” McCarthy told iDiski Times.
“I want to be able to still have the energy that I have. I want to be present for my players. And you know how vocal and how animated I am?
“And I still want to have all those traits, the trademark me on the touchline, and intimidating the opposition bench and coaches because of how vocal and animated I am on the touchline.
“I can help our national team qualify for the World Cup. And not just qualify for the World Cup, but going far! Going through the group stages and doing what Morocco and Ghana have done at previous World Cups,” the Bafana legend concluded.
