All the parts of England set for snow on Friday with ‘two places worst-hit’

The UK is set to be hit by fresh snow tomorrow as meteorologists now predict a spell of snow for parts of the UK on Friday. The snow blast will strike parts of Britain in a matter of days, weather charts – from WX Charts using Met Desk data – show.

The North West in particular faces up to 9cm of snow per hour on Friday in areas such as the West Scotland coast and the Lake District. The Met Office explained: “Friday will be a breezy day for many, with showers feeding into many areas, though these will generally be more frequent in the west. Temperatures are returning more towards average for the time of year compared to the recent mild weather.

“Showers should reduce through Saturday, giving most areas a drier spell of weather. Further persistent rain and locally strong winds are likely to move into some southern areas on Sunday, though those further north are likely to see drier conditions.”

The BBC says on its website: “Tonight, northwest areas will continue to have blustery showers, wintry on the hills. It will become mainly dry and clear elsewhere briefly. However, more clouds and scattered showers move in later.”

And looking ahead to Friday, it goes on: “Tomorrow will be a breezy day with showers for the west. They will be wintry over the hills in the northwest. Drier and brighter south and east early but clouds and showers soon move into these areas.”

Saturday will see plenty of sunshine for many but the far south and west will see showers and outbreaks of rain with snow over the hills. Breezy and cool. A cold start on Sunday, the BBC meteorological team then goes on to add.

“Bright and dry for much of the UK but the northwest will continue to see showers and spells of rain, still wintry on high ground. Largely dry and cool on Monday but coastal areas may see some showers,” the forecasting team says.
