Taylor Trammell, once a promising talent in the MLB, has returned to the New York Yankees’ fold after a brief stint with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 26-year-old outfielder, who was designated for assignment by the Yankees and subsequently cleared waivers, will now continue his career with the Yankees’ Triple-A affiliate in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
The Reds originally drafted Trammell 35th overall in 2016, recognizing his speed and potential on the field. However, his journey through the majors has been a turbulent one.
His recent move to the Dodgers was short-lived; after being claimed off waivers in early April, Trammell saw limited action, stepping up to the plate for only six at-bats across five games, which resulted in three strikeouts. Within two weeks, he found himself designated for assignment once again.
Trammell’s path this season has been a winding one, with the Yankees being his third team after a period with the Seattle Mariners, where he was also designated for assignment before the season’s start.
Now, as he settles back into the Yankees’ organization, Trammell faces the challenge of reigniting his career in the minors. His performance in Triple-A will be critical if he hopes to make a return to the major league stage.
