Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King teaser trailer narrates journey of Simba’s father

2024 just got bigger at the movies with the release of the visually spectacular teaser trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King. Fans worldwide are in for a special treat as they embark on a journey alongside the king – Mufasa!

The film explores the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands. “This story begins far beyond the mountains and the shadows….A lion was born without a drop of nobility in his blood,” says Rafiki teasing the start of Mufasa’s journey.

Announcing an all-star roster of talent bringing new and fan-favorite characters to life; and blending live-action filmmaking techniques with photoreal computer-generated imagery, “Mufasa: The Lion King” is directed by Barry Jenkins.

The official logline is as follows: “Mufasa: The Lion King enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka — the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny — their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe.”

Talking about the star cast, it features Aaron Pierre and Kelvin Harrison Jr. voice the younger Mufasa and Scar along with John Kani as Rafiki, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as Timon, and Donald Glover as Simba. Blue Ivy Carter joins as Kiara, Simba and Nala’s

daughter.

Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King releases in India on 20th December 2024, in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
