To celebrate 19t years of “Encantadia,” Direk Mark Reyes gave fans another “Sang’gre” teaser!
The director took to Instagram to share a photo of trees and a blue screen.
“After almost two decades I find myself once again on a familiar set. The twin trees of the Asnamon. The portal that connects the mortal world with the mystical land known as Encantadia,” Direk Mark said in his caption.
He added that when taping for the original “Encantadia” happened in 2005, the twin trees were located in Daranak Falls in Tanay, Rizal. The current set is now in the hills of a camping site also in the area.
“We are very excited to show you who will cross that blue screen in Sang’gre. But for now let’s just celebrate 19 years of Encantadia!” Direk Mark added.
The first episode of “Encantadia” premiered on May 2, 2005, and has since been a Filipino pop culture phenomenon with its own universe and language. The story followed four strong Sang’gres who represent each element and fight to protect their kingdom.
Diana Zubiri, Iza Calzado, Karylle, and Sunshine Dizon, the original Sang’gres, reunited on “It’s Showtime” in 2023 for Karylle’s Magpasikat performance. They previously reunited for the fantasy film “Mystified,” released in 2019.
“Encantadia” was remade and aired on GMA-7 in 2016.
The original stars also sent their heartfelt messages to the cast of “Sang’gre.”
“Sang’gre,” will feature a new generation of diwatas. It stars Bianca Umali as Terra, the new keeper of the Brilyante ng Lupa; Faith Da Silva as Flamarra, keeper of the Brilyante ng Apoy; Kelvin Miranda as Adamus, the new protector of the Brilyante ng Tubig; and Angel Guardian as Deia, the keeper of the Brilyante ng Hangin.
