Director Sukumar credits Allu Arjun for his success in the film industry
Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the beloved romance drama film ‘Arya,’ director Sukumar shared heartfelt emotions about his journey in the film industry, crediting actor Allu Arjun for his success. The occasion was marked by a grand event in Hyderabad attended by the cast and crew of the film.
Speaking on the beginnings of ‘Arya’, Sukumar revealed that he was first hesitant to direct a remake but was eventually persuaded by Allu Arjun’s conviction and enthusiasm for the script. Despite his early hesitation, Arjun’s faith in the concept prompted Sukumar to pursue it, even as he worked on another script.
Sukumar expressed gratitude to Allu Arjun for his dedication and vision, acknowledging the actor’s key role in shaping his career. He praised Arjun’s insight in recognising the script’s potential, emphasising how the actor’s belief in him moved the production forward.
According to a report by 123Telugu, Sukumar said, “Bunny ( referring to Allu Arjun) was very much determined to do this film as he loved the script. He was just 18 at that time, but he identified the script’s potential. Allu Arjun is the reason for what I am today.”
Recalling the collaborative efforts behind ‘Arya’, Sukumar also highlighted the support he received from producer Dil Raju, who provided the necessary resources to realize his vision. He also praised composer Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) for his instant contribution to the film, particularly for the iconic song “Feel My Love.”
After the massive success of ‘Arya’, the makers also produced a sequel to the film ‘Arya 2’ which was also highly appreciated by the fans.
