Independent MP Dai Le has asked what Australians “can really buy today for $15” and has called on the Albanese government to look at policies to address the cost of living crisis.
The Albanese government’s overhauled stage three tax cuts passed the Senate unamended on Tuesday night.
“They have to wait until the 1st of July, and then us, as elected representatives, you look at it, and you analyse it and is $15 really going to be enough,” Ms Le told Sky News Australia.
‘What can you really buy today for $15?’: Dai Le calls for more cost-of-living relief
“What can you really buy today for $15?
“That’s not going to cover the cost of the hike in electricity prices, which we’re all seeing, the hike in gas prices, the hike in food costs, the hike in rental accommodation.
“The government has to really look at policies to address those issues in the cost of living crisis.”
