Gettysburg Warriors logo issue continues after new apparel announcement
New apparel that is coming soon is raising new questions about the use of the iconic Gettysburg Warriors logo.
For months, community members, along with Gettysburg School District, have disputed Kierstan Demps’ claim that she is the rightful trademark owner of the logo.
Back in November, CBS 21 News reached out to both the district and Demps, with Demps refusing to comment and the district stating that a previous district employee created the logo.
However, the PA Department of State’s record shows that Demps’ company, Kierstan’s Kids LLC, has owned the trademark since September 14 of 2023.
In November, the district also told CBS 21 that they were in “communication with their legal counsel to determine appropriate steps,” and could not comment any further.
Now, Demps’ apparel company, “4Love Apparel,” has announced new clothing set to release with the same Warriors logo.
According to the company’s website, the apparel will be released on March 1.
CBS 21 reached back out to the district and to Demps regarding the new merchandise.
The district, responding with the following statement:
The district is aware of Ms. Demps’ merchandise using the district-owned logo. The district is currently in communication with our legal counsel to determine appropriate steps; beyond this, I cannot comment further at this time.
When reaching out to Demps, she referred CBS 21 to the Department of State who do still have the logo officially in their record, trademarked to her Kierstan’s Kids LLC business.
