'denied justice because...': woman congress leader quits party days after accusing colleague of 'misbehaviour'

Congress’ National Media Coordinator Radhika Khera has resigned from the grand old party days after she alleged disrespect in the Chhattisgarh party unit and vowed to expose people suffering from a male chauvinistic mentality within the party. On her resignation from Congress, Khera said she was not given ‘justice’ by the party because she visited Ram Temple In Ayodhya. I have never crossed the party line, I have worked with full devotion and honesty…Just because I visited Ayodhya, just because I am a Hindu, I am a follower of Sanatan Dharma, I was not given justice. Is your (Congress) fight with Ram Lalla or is your fight with any political party? This party will have to decide… I waited for 6 days and pleaded for justice but nothing happened. So after 22 years, I have resigned from the party, she said. In a statement on X, she wrote, “Today, with great pain, I am renouncing the primary membership of the party and resigning from my post. Yes I am a girl and I can fight, and that is what I am doing now. I will continue to fight for justice for myself and my countrymen. Soon after tendering her resignation to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, the Chhattisgarh Congress leader updated her ‘X’ profile picture to the one taken during her Ayodhya visit. In her resignation letter also, Khera highlighted Congress’ stand on Ram Mandir as one of the reasons behind her quitting the party. For every Hindu, Lord Ram holds a special place but some people oppose to it…In the party to which I gave more than 22 years of my life, I faced similar resistance as I could not stop myself from getting a darshan of Lord Ram, Khera wrote. The opposition to my action reached such a level that the party refused to give me justice for what happened to me in the Chhattisgarh Congress office. I have always fought for others’ justice but when it came to my justice, I stood defeated, she added. Khera recently made headline after a video went viral where she expressing grievances about disrespect towards her by a senior office-bearer of Congress. In the video, she can be heard making allegations against an unnamed individual, stating that nobody in the party is respected, especially female politicians. “What has happened to me today has not happened in 40 years. I have been insulted. A video of him shouting at me was also shot. I was asked to get out. When I talk to him, he yells at me. I told you earlier also. I am also resigning from the party, she said. She also took to X and wrote that she would expose people suffering from a male chauvinistic mentality within the party.Soon after tendering her resignation, the Chhattisgarh Congress leader updated her ‘X’ profile picture to the one taken during her Ayodhya visit (Image:X)

Congress’ National Media Coordinator Radhika Khera has resigned from the grand old party days after she alleged disrespect in the Chhattisgarh party unit and vowed to expose people suffering from a “male chauvinistic mentality” within the party.

On her resignation from Congress, Khera said she was denied ‘justice’ by the party because she visited Ram Temple In Ayodhya.

“I have never crossed the party line, I have worked with full devotion and honesty…Just because I visited Ayodhya, just because I am a Hindu, I am a follower of Sanatan Dharma, I was not given justice.

“The opposition to my action reached such a level that the party refused to give me justice for what happened to me in the Chhattisgarh Congress office. I have always fought for others’ justice but when it came to my justice, I stood defeated,” she added.

According to Khera, she offered prayers to Lord Ram in Ayodhya on April 25.

“Five days ago, I was misbehaved with at the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress office. Abuses were hurled at me and I was locked in a room. When I appealed to the senior leadership for justice, I was told to stay silent. After serving this party for the past 22 years, I was denied justice just because I offered prayers to Lord Ram,” she told news agency PTI.

Khera recently made headlines after a video went viral where she expressed grievances about disrespect towards her by a senior office-bearer of Congress. In the video, she can be heard making allegations against an unnamed individual, stating that nobody in the party is respected, especially female politicians.

She also took to X and wrote that she would expose people suffering from a “male chauvinistic mentality” within the party.
