Peanuts and tree nuts are the major cause of fatalities. Peanuts and tree nuts like walnuts, hazelnuts, cashews, pistachios, pine nuts, almonds can cause severe anaphylactic reactions which can lead to death. Other foods which can cause severe reactions to include fish like tuna, shellfish like shrimp, lobster, scallop, crab, milk of cow or goat, eggs, seeds like cotton seeds, sesame seeds, mustard seeds, or fruits like kiwis. Both sexes are equally affected by these anaphylactic reactions.
