New Delhi: Representatives of 18 political parties from 10 countries have been invited to the country by the BJP to get a first-hand experience and insights into BJP’s election campaign. The delegates, who will arrive today, will be meeting BJP National President J.P. Nadda at the BJP headquarter.

These political leaders are expected to have an interaction with Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The delegates will be briefed about BJP’s election campaign strategies along with the overall Electoral process.

The representatives include members of the political parrties from Australia (Liberal Party), Vietnam (Communist Party of Vietnam), Bangladesh (Bangladesh Awami League), Israel (Likud Party), Uganda (National Resistance Movement), Tanzania (Chama Cha Mapinduzi), Russia (United Russia Party), Sri Lanka (Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, United National Party), Mauritius (Militant Socialist Movement, Mauritius Labour Party, Mauritian Militant Movement and Parti Mauricien Social Democrate) and Nepal (Nepali Congress, Janamat Party, Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) and Rashtriya Swatantra Party).

The visit is part of the global outreach program ‘KNOW BJP’ launched by BJP President JP Nadda on the 43rd Foundation Day of the Party.

This is not the first invitation by the BJP to political parties in foreign countries.

In January, a four-member delegation of South Africa’s ruling party arrived on a three-day visit to India. During their stay, the leaders were given insight into the BJP’s ideology and functioning by party chief J P Nadda and other leaders.

The delegation comprised ANC secretary general Fikile Mbalula, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Alvin Botes, who is also a member of the ANC’s executive committee, Cheslyn Edward Moster and Phillip Musekwa, the BJP said.

“A four-member delegation of senior leaders of the ruling party of South Africa, African National Congress, arrived in New Delhi today on the invitation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP),” it said. “During their three-day visit, the delegates and BJP leaders will exchange information on ideology and functioning of respective parties. The delegation will also meet BJP national president J P Nadda and other senior leaders of the party,” the BJP said.
