APR 11 SPURS SET NEW FRANCHISE RECORD The San Antonio Spurs have been letting it fly all season long.

In the team’s last game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team hit its 1,000 3-pointer on the season.

It’s the first time in franchise history the team has made that many shots from distance.

APR 2 JONES NAMED FINALIST FOR SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD San Antonio Spurs point guard Tre Jones is earning recognition from the NBA.

Jones was named one of six finalists for the 2023-24 NBA Sportsmanship Award.

Other finalists include Harrison Barnes (Sacramento Kings), Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder), Kevin Love (Miami Heat) and Jarrett Allen (Cleveland Cavaliers).

MAR 29 GRIZZLIES SIGN SIMPSON A Southwest Division rival of the San Antonio Spurs is adding reinforcements.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Memphis Grizzlies are signing point guard Zavier Simpson to a 10-day contract.

Simpson would need to sign a second contract after it expires in order to face the Spurs when the two teams meet on April 9.

MAR 27 CISSOKO RECALLED FROM AUSTIN San Antonio Spurs rookie Sidy Cissoko is rejoining the team.

The Spurs announced on Wednesday that they would call up Cissoko, making him available for tonight’s game against the Utah Jazz.

Tipoff between the Spurs and Jazz is set for 8 p.m. CT.

MAR 26 SOCHAN SHINES VS. SUNS San Antonio Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan led the way with 26 points and 18 rebounds in Monday’s win against the Phoenix Suns.

Without Victor Wembanyama on the floor, Sochan took on an added responsibility and delivered when it mattered most.

Here’s some of his best highlights from Monday’s win:

MAR 8 SPURS ELIMINATED FROM PLAYOFFS What was long understood is now finally confirmed.

After losing 131-129 to the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night, the San Antonio Spurs are officially eliminated from postseason contention.

The Spurs are 20.5 games back from the No. 10 seed in the West with 19 games to play.

MAR 5 SPURS, ROCKETS GET IN BRAWL The San Antonio Spurs aren’t fans of the Houston Rockets, and that was apparent in the third quarter of Tuesday night’s game.

Here’s a look at a fight that broke out between Jeremy Sochan and Amen Thompson.

Thompson appears to be tripped by Sochan, who fell to the ground after trying to grab a rebound. The two then appeared to get physical, which prompted the coaching staffs and referees to break up the fight.

MAR 3 PACERS SIGN KENDALL BROWN As the Indiana Pacers prepare to face the San Antonio Spurs, one player will have a little more job security.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that second-year pro Kendall Brown is signing a three-year contract with the Pacers.

Brown was originally on a two-way deal, but now he is on the standard 15-man roster.

The Pacers and Spurs are set to tip off at 6 p.m. CT.

MAR 1 BARLOW SIGNS NEW DEAL The San Antonio Spurs have a corresponding move after Marcus Morris was bought out.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Spurs are converting Dominick Barlow’s two-way contract to a standard deal.

Barlow, 20, is averaging 4.6 points per game this season. The Spurs now have an open two-way spot they can fill with a new player. In a corresponding move, the team is signing Jamaree Bouyea, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

MAR 1 MORRIS BOUGHT OUT The San Antonio Spurs have officially bid farewell to Marcus Morris.

The team announced that it reached a buyout with Morris, who the team acquired via trade on Feb. 9.

Now, Morris can sign with a contender and be eligible for the postseason.

FEB 29 PATTY MILLS WAIVED by the Atlanta Hawks. The 35-year-old guard averaged 2.7 points in 19 games with the Hawks.

Mills spent 10 seasons in San Antonio, winning the 2014 NBA Finals and serving as a pillar of the community. With his impending free agency, the Spurs will be rumored to bring him back.

FEB 23 KERR SIGNS WARRIORS EXTENSION The Golden State Warriors are keeping coach Steve Kerr around for a little while longer.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Kerr signed a two-year, $35 million extension that will last him until the 2025-26 season.

While San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich makes more annually on his five-year, $80 million deal, he also acts as team president. Kerr makes the most money per year of any person who is strictly a coach.

FEB 20 WEMBY HELPS SPURS TV RATINGS RISE The San Antonio Spurs have a lot of added intrigue this season … 7 feet, 4 inches to be exact.

Victor Wembanyama, the No. 1 overall pick from this year’s draft, has got Spurs fans excited about basketball in San Antonio once again.

According to the Sports Business Journal, Spurs ratings are up 54 percent year-over-year on Bally Sports Southwest … even with an 11-44 record through the All-Star Break.

It would be interesting to see how much the ratings rise once the Spurs are actually playing competitive basketball at a consistent rate.

FEB 19 NETS FIRE VAUGHN A former San Antonio Spurs assistant is looking for a new job.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Brooklyn Nets are firing coach Jacque Vaughn, who played with the Spurs from 2006-09 and coached under Gregg Popovich from 2010-12.

Vaughn, 49, has the Nets at a 21-33 record before the All-Star Break, which ended in a 50-point loss on Wednesday against the Boston Celtics.

FEB 8 SOCHAN TO RISING STARS The San Antonio Spurs will have more representation at the All-Star Break next weekend.

The league announced today that Jeremy Sochan would replace injured Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe at the Rising Stars Challenge.

Sochan is on “Team Jalen Rose” with Chet Holmgren (Oklahoma City Thunder), Jalen Williams (Oklahoma City Thunder), Bennedict Mathurin (Indiana Pacers), Dereck Lively II (Dallas Mavericks), Jordan Hawkins (New Orleans Pelicans) and Walker Kessler (Utah Jazz).

The Rising Stars Challenge is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT on Friday, Feb. 16.
