Dancing on Ice competitor Rachel Stevens will “always be open” to another S Club 7 reunion.
Alongside Tina Barrett, Paul Cattermole, Jo O’Meara, Hannah Spearritt, Bradley McIntosh and Jon Lee, she performed with the pop group between 1998 and 2003 before sharing the stage once again for a special set of shows 11 years later.
Turning up for a quick chat on Lorraine on Friday (February 4), Stevens was quizzed on the future of the ‘Never Had a Dream Come True’ hitmakers – could they get back together?
“I don’t know,” she commented. “It happened not that [long ago] – I remember in 2015 we did one, and it was really great. It was so good to be back.
“It’s just I think seven of us makes such a difference. It really does. You wouldn’t think it would, but it does make such a difference.
“We’re all so different, and we’re all off doing so many… But I would always be open to it. I mean it holds such a special place in my heart. And it would be so fun to get back up there.”
The well-received return of both Steps and Take That in recent times proved that nostalgia is alive and well within music lovers, let’s see if S Club 7 follow suit.
Back in June 2021, O’Meara admitted that the band’s original split was a “shock to the system”.
“It was the most surreal thing because with our lives we were always on an itinerary and the book was always full, full, full. On that very last show we were in the dressing room and went, ‘Oh see you later then’ and we all went into our own cars.
“I just remember sitting in the back of the car, I felt so empty. I felt completely lost because I thought, ‘What do I do now?'” the singer recalled.
