Dad raises eyebrows recreating Dirty Dancing lift with nanny, 23

A man in the US has raised eyebrows after he was filmed — by his wife — dancing with his kid’s nanny.

Rachel took to TikTok last week with the vision of husband Andrew and employee Lizzie Norton performing a Dirty Dancing-inspired lift.

Unable to nail the iconic move the first time, the pair try and try again.

At one point Norton, 23, lifts Andrew up, while they are also shown laughing, playfully.

The goofy video, captioned: The nanny-dad content no one asked for, spread like wildfire on the social media platform, racking up more than 8.1 million views.

But many were quick to comment, with one person saying it was “uncomfortable to watch”.

Another chimed in: “The fact that they were both insanely comfortable doing this is unsettling.”

Taking a lighter approach, a third user said: “My wife divorced me solely for watching this video.”

Rachel went on to explain that she was comfortable with the interaction, adding that Lizzie — who minds the couple’s two children — is considered “part of the family”.

The couple hired her at the start of the pandemic after Lizzie, who also models, lost her job at a day care centre.

“In the beginning of the pandemic, my husband worked from home while I went to work, and he and Lizzie did see each other every day,’ the mother said.

Things have since changed, with Andrew leaving for the office before Lizzie arrives for the day and returning home after she has left.

“On the rare occasion she does see him, they’re so happy to see each other, because she’s like our little sister,” Rachel said.

“We love her to death. She’s really goofy and weird and we can joke around and mess with her, and vice versa.

Given the unease felt by some on social media, Lizzie said: “I’m not being groomed, everybody can calm down.”
