Curtis to say goodbye to City
The departures continue at Melbourne City, with defender Curtis Good the latest stalwart to announce he will leave at the end of club’s A-League finals campaign.
A day after skipper and the A-League’s all-time leading goalscorer Jamie Maclaren confirmed he was set to part ways with City, Good followed suit, with the 31-year-old centre-back also leaving to “purse an opportunity” overseas.
“As a Melbourne boy, it’s been a privilege to represent this club for as long as I have,” said Good, who has made a club-record 179 appearances for City, 25 of which came when the team was known as Melbourne Heart.
“The club has played a massive role in shaping me both on and off the pitch.
“My teammates, the staff and our fans have had a lasting impact on me.”

Good, who has two Socceroos caps, had two stints with the Melbourne club, and also had spells in the UK with Newcastle United, Bradford City and Dundee United.
City’s director of football Michael Petrillo praised Good – who won an A-League championship and three premierships with the club – for coming back from a serious hip injury that “significantly affected his earlier career”.
“He has gone on to become if not the best, one of the best, defenders the A-League has seen,” Petrillo said.
“He’s played an integral part in our men’s team’s success … with his persistence, consistency, defensive intelligence and strength in the contest really standing out.
“As a homegrown boy who started his career with us, he’s always been universally loved by our fans and equally respected by his peers.”
City meet arch-rivals Melbourne Victory in an elimination final on Sunday at AAMI Park.
