TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Otoritas Pariwisata Thailand (TAT) sedang bersiap untuk mempromosikan pariwisata pagi dan sore hari untuk menstabilkan pasar. Cuaca panas ekstrem yang dialami Thailand dan beberapa negara di Asia Tenggara membuat orang tidak dapat melakukan aktivitas luar ruangan.

Dilansir dari Bangkok Post, Somradee Chitchong, Wakil Gubernur Pemasaran Domestik TAT, mengatakan bahwa lembaga tersebut akan mengalihkan fokusnya pada kampanye promosi ke pariwisata pagi dan malam hari untuk menghindari panas terik di siang hari.

Wisatawan enggan ke luar ruangan pada siang hari

Dia mengatakan cuaca panas ekstrem membuat warga Thailand, terutama warga lanjut usia, enggan bepergian. Banyak orang menghindari tempat-tempat di luar ruangan, seperti kuil, dan memilih aktivitas di dalam ruangan atau tempat wisata dengan udara sejuk, seperti air terjun.

Untuk merangsang pendapatan bagi operator lokal yang kehilangan pendapatan karena cuaca, TAT berencana untuk mempromosikan kegiatan yang lebih cocok untuk pagi, sore dan malam hari, seperti berlari, mendayung perahu, atau melihat bintang.

Somradee mengatakan TAT juga berencana untuk memperbaiki pasar selama musim hujan, khususnya di wilayah utara dan timur laut, untuk mengkompensasi kerugian karena kabut beracun PM2.5 bertahan lebih lama dari yang diperkirakan di wilayah tersebut.

Tempat wisata sepi

Wuthichai Luangamornlert, kepala eksekutif Siam Park City Group, operator Siam Amazing Park, mengatakan cuaca panas yang ekstrem membuat orang tidak bisa melakukan aktivitas di luar ruangan. Ha itu menyebabkan penurunan jumlah pengunjung di tempat itu sekitar 5-10 persen.

Belanja tamu turun 10 persen karena rendahnya kepercayaan terhadap perekonomian dan lonjakan biaya hidup, terutama tagihan listrik, kata Wuthichai.

“Wisatawan lokal memperketat anggaran mereka untuk makanan dan minuman saat bepergian. Kami melihat lebih banyak penduduk lokal memilih pusat perbelanjaan ber-AC selama akhir pekan daripada mengunjungi taman rekreasi air kami karena cuaca yangterlalu panas pada siang hari,” kata dia.

Sepinya pengunjung ini terjadi di tengah naiknya biaya operasional operator wisata Thailand. Rata-rata kenaikan biaya sebesar 10-20 persen, terutama karena naiknya biaya energi dan tenaga kerja. Situasi ini dirasakan bertambah berat karena musim puncak liburan akan segera berakhir.
