Joe Burrow

The Cincinnati Bengals had a pretty disappointing season last year that was amplified by a season-ending wrist injury to star quarterback Joe Burrow. But it sounds like Burrow knows the secret to success for the Bengals: young players performing well.

During a recent interview with ESPN, Joe Burrow called out the young players on the Cincinnati Bengals roster for the way they performed last year and called on them to be more productive and more of leaders this coming season.

“We need the guys that we draft to come in and be productive and take on the leadership roles that we’ve lost the last couple of years,” Burrow said according to ESPN. “And we need to bring in the right pieces this offseason too, whether it’s the draft or free agency.

“Like I said, the injuries were what they were last year, but we weren’t good enough in a lot of different places to make a Super Bowl run in my opinion.”

Burrow will be the leader in the Cincinnati locker room for the foreseeable future after the team signed him to a record-setting contract extension last year, and it sounds like he’s already getting started on leading the team to success next season.
