The reception of a GPs surgery in Middlesbrough was reduced to a pile of rubble after a car drove into it at speed and destroyed its brick façade.
Staff and patients at Parkway Medical Practice in the Teesside city were left stunned when a black Peugot collided into the centre on Wednesday afternoon.
Cleveland Police and Cleveland Fire Brigade rushed to the scene, while the team of receptionists on duty were reported to have received minor injuries.
Shocking pictures of the aftermath of the crash have been shared by the surgery on social media.
The surgery wrote on X, formerly Twitter: ‘We are unable to proceed with any debris clearance or repairs until instructed, and currently have no heating, no phones and only emergency electricity.

‘We are working as hard as possible to speedily return to some sort of normality.’
The surgery added it had been able to borrow some rooms from a neighbouring facility, but that appointments would be limited.
A spokesman added: ‘We are so lucky to have a team of the most lovely and caring receptionists on the planet. We feel even more blessed that all came away with only minor trauma and fractures.
‘The psychological trauma they faced will last a lot longer than the visible bruises.’
A Cleveland Fire Brigade spokesman said: ‘[We] were called to an incident on January 24 at 2.39pm at the Parkway Medical Centre… Three fire engines were in attendance from Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough and Thornaby.
‘One car was driven into side of building. The scene made safe by crews and one fire engine remains at the scene.’
Cleveland Police confirmed the incident was one-car collision. The force has been contacted by Mail Online.
