Coronation Street’s Michael is put in grave danger next week on the ITV soap as killer Stephen Reid challenges him.
Stephen has wrought a path of deathly destruction in Weatherfield since arriving on the cobbles, but has yet to be caught out for his evil deeds.
His most recent target, Carla Connor, similarly faced danger on the soap once Stephen made a bid to take over her job as the boss of the Underworld.
But ITV spoilers have now revealed it is Michael who Stephen is set to lock horns with, as he demands answers from the suspicious businessman.
In scenes coming next week, Stephen lies to the factory staff, assuring them he’s got a meeting to finalise the American deal that afternoon.
However, crafty Michael has consulted Stephen’s diary, prompting him to demand to know why there’s no mention of the meeting with the Americans.
In later scenes on the ITV soap, Michael deals Stephen a problem after their confrontation.
Michael shows Ronnie his new designs and explains how he hopes to persuade the American clients to get back on board.
Having spoken to Owen, Michael confronts Stephen, asking why he cancelled the American deal and then lied about it. How will Stephen respond? Could Michael now be in danger?
It comes after Coronation Street revealed Carla’s fate last week, after she was left for dead by killer Stephen.
Carla was rescued just in time by another character, as smoke spread quickly around her flat and the oven was on fire.
As huge flames spread out of the open oven, Roy Cropper choked as he moved through the rising smoke to stop the fire before it got any worse.
Coronation Street revealed Carla Connor’s fate on Friday night
Carla had been asleep unaware of the danger she was in after being advised to take prescribed diazepam over her recent health woes.
The factory boss has been struggling recently, and believes she may be experiencing severe psychosis again, a few years on from her breakdown.
What she doesn’t know is that Stephen has been drugging her with LSD for weeks, and this has been the cause of her feeling paranoid and acting out of character.
Roy Cropper saved Carla
Things take a deadly turn on Friday night, with spoilers teasing a possible exit for Carla actress Alison King – but does Carla die?
What we know is that Stephen decides to take aim at her yet again after giving her a double dose of LSD during Wednesday’s episode.
Pretending to be concerned for Carla, he’s playing on her mental health battle and the concern of her loved ones in a bid to get her out of the way.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
