EastEnders' bosses have revealed its Christmas shows for this year as viewers await the British soap's most-watched episode of the year.

Along with its New Year episode, BBC One bosses often like to shake things up as much as they can and 2021 is certainly no different.

The BBC is promising explosive storylines, including a slightly extended post-watershed episode.

Emmerdale’s Matthew Wolfenden hints at HUGE break from show

EMMERDALE star Matthew Wolfenden has freshened up his dramatic new hairstyle – sparking speculation that he will not be back on screens for some time.

Matthew and his co-star Isabel Hodgins have not appeared on the soap since October 28 amid allegations of a race row.

Sources had suggested the pair would not return until January, however Matthew's decision to keep his hair tightly cropped means he could be away for longer.

Soap stars are encouraged not to make changes to their hair in order to keep continuity with their on-screen character.

But in a new video clip on Instagram, Matthew has once again buzzed his hair super-short and bleached it blonde. He first shaved his head in October.

The star is sitting in his dressing gown in the footage and laughed as he used a 'what job suits your face' filter.

After appearing to 'scan' his face, the app suggested Matthew should be a model.

His fellow Emmerdale star wife, Charley Webb, also used the app before being told she should be 'Royalty'.

    Fans point out huge blunder

Fans have pointed out a huge blunder after a right wing attack on Keegan Butcher-Baker.

Thursday’s episode of the BBC soap saw Keegan (played by Zack Morris) get beate up by newcomer Aaron Monroe’s (Charlie Wernham) far-right pals.

Aaron, who is rumoured to be behind a terrorist attack at Christmas, got the hump after the local school cancelled the Christmas nativity so the children could focus on their education instead.

The headteacher’s argument was that the kids have a lot to catch up on after the coronavirus pandemic.

However, far-right Aaron believed it was a conspiracy to stomp out Christmas in the UK.

The soap star has opened up about overcoming crippling anxiety and depression.

The I’m A Celeb star, 30, said that at its worst he suffered from panic attacks on the set of Emmerdale.

And he eventually decided to see a doctor who prescribed him medication to help get things back on track.

Opening up bravely about his ordeal in a bid to explain why it’s important for men to seek help he said: “What I do now if I’m anxious, I tell people. The more you’re open and the more you’re honest people go ‘what are you anxious about? You’re fine it’s ok’ and then you go ‘yeah it’s ok.”

New dad Danny, who is emerging as one of the favourites to triumph on the ITV1 show, talked in candid detail about overcoming his past troubles in a chat on the Ask Ross podcast.

He said: “Sometimes I would be on set and just break out in sweat and then it makes you even more anxious to the point where it puts you towards a panic attack.”

Coronation Street viewers horrified as one person’s life is left hanging in the balance

CORONATION Street viewers have been left horrified as a person's life was left hanging in the balance after Speed Daal went up in flames.

Tonight's double bill saw Zeedan Nazir struggling to stop his evil father-in-law Hashim from torching his grandmother Yasmeen's house over the large amount of money he owes him.

Zeedan lost his dirty money after his food truck was stolen, and Hashim soon arrived to demand he pay him that back plus the £50,000 he stole off him by the end of the day.

When Zeedan said he had no way of doing that, Hashim told him to torch his restaurant and pay him back with the insurance money, but Zeedan didn't want to.

Hashim then suggested Zeedan just leave the door open, and his henchmen would set fire to Speed Daal for him, but if he didn't comply, he would torch Yasmeen's house instead.

Left with little choice, Zeedan did as he was told, failing to realise Yasmeen had given Stu keys to Speed Dahl to cook her grandson a dish and prove his skills.

Weatherfield residents soon realised there was a problem as smoke billowed out of the restaurant, and Billy rushed to tell Yasmeen.

It’s been a tough time for her character, who was wrongly accused and sent to jail over Seb Franklin’s murder in tense scenes earlier this year.

ANOTHER blunder in Ben Tucker murder investigation

Emmerdale viewers all have the same complaint after spotting ANOTHER blunder in Ben Tucker’s murder investigation.

The character was brutally killed off last month after being battered with a canoe paddle by deranged Meena Jutla.

However, Liv Flaherty has been wrongly arrested and charged his murder, and in Thursday’s double bill, the police revealed they had seen the incriminating video of her arguing with Ben in the hours before his death.

The detectives also told Liv that her DNA had been found under the victim’s fingernails, before referencing the scratch on her neck.

But the moment left some viewers scratching their heads, considering how many other victims serial killer Meena has under her belt already.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “If this is the one time the Police do actually run a DNA test then #Emmerdale really is beyond f***ed.

“Leanna dies after desperately tryna save herself grabbing Meena’s hair – NO DNA test. Andrea, also murdered. Still no DNA test Ben dies, immediately the hunt is on for DNA.”
