BAFANA BAFANA QUALIFY FOR THE AFCON 2023 FINAL 16
As confirmed on Wednesday night, South Africa marched on to the final 16 round.
The results was sealed after a 0-0 draw with Tunisia. It followed after a 4-0 win over Namibia on Sunday and a 2-0 loss to Mali last week.
Bafana Bafana have thus set up a battle with Morocco next Tuesday.
KHULISO MUDAU INJURY
Mamelodi Sundowns’ highly-rated right-back Mudau may not play against Morocco.
The 28-year-old from Limpopo’s Musina was taken off at half time during the Tunisia game.
Coach Hugo Broos confirmed it was an ankle injury that will reveal its full extend later today.
“I don’t know, we have to wait till tomorrow [Thursday]. The fact that Khuliso was to go out is not a good sign,” Broos said, as quoted by FARPost.
“It’s an ankle. We [the medical team] will see him tomorrow and make a good analysis of his injury and then maybe we can decide if he should be ready for next week.
“Let’s hope [for the best],” the Bafana boss concluded.
