Cómo funciona la interoperabilidad que permite pagar por QR con tarjetas de crédito

Tras meses de demora, el Banco Central dispuso la interoperabilidad por la que los códigos QR de los comercios puedan ser leídos para todas las billeteras digitales.

La Asociación de Bancos Argentinos (ADEBA) celebró la medida, ya que brinda “más opciones y libertad de elección a los usuarios y comercios”.

La interoperabilidad se había dispuesto a mitad del año pasado, pero el Central tuvo que postergar en tres oportunidades la entrada en vigencia de esta norma, por diferencias entre Mercado Pago y los bancos.

A principios del mes pasado, el Central puso como fecha final el 30 de abril como fecha indeclinable para que Mercado Pago entregara la información necesaria.

Que es la interoperabilidad

La disposición del Central establece que los códigos QR que exhiban los comercios para cobrar con tarjetas de crédito “deberán aceptar que los clientes puedan realizar los pagos con cualquier billetera digital (bancaria o de proveedor de servicios de pago), independientemente de que haya coincidencia de marca con el QR. Esto representa una importante mejora en la experiencia de pago para comercios y personas usuarias”.

¿Qué cambia con la interoperabilidad?

Desde ADEBA dieron a conocer los cambios para usuarios y comercios.

  • Para los usuarios: Para pagar en un QR de un comercio, se tenían que cumplir dos condiciones: ser ellos clientes de la misma billetera que había puesto el QR y haber cargado la tarjeta de crédito en esa billetera. A partir de ahora los usuarios podrán pagar con su billetera en todos los QR instalados
  • Para los comercios: Solo podían cobrar a los clientes que tuvieran la misma billetera que la que le había puesto los QR, en su rol de adquirente. “De esta forma, para poder acceder a los clientes de las grandes billeteras, los comercios estaban obligados a tener el QR de cobro con esa billetera”. 

“A partir de ahora el comercio podrá elegir el proveedor de QR que le da mejores condiciones y precios; con un solo QR podrá cobrar a cualquier cliente, sin importar que billetera tenga. Es de esperar que esto haga bajar las comisiones y mejore los plazos de cobro que hoy le fijan los proveedores de QR a los comercios”, indicaron desde ADEBA.
