Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day 2023 fundraising grand total revealed.

Comic Relief has revealed the amount of money that Red Nose Day 2023 has raised following its telethon on BBC One.

At the time of writing, the charity has raised £31,952,141. This number will only increase as people continue to make donations, which can be done here.

The number is down compared to last year’s, which revealed a £42,790,147 total at the end of the telethon. That’s quite a drop, which could be down to people not having as much money to spend due to the Cost of Living Crisis.

Last night’s telethon featured a host of live performances, as well as sketches starring many household names.

Dawn French put on Claudia Winkleman’s turtleneck and fringe to host a celebrity version of The Traitors, where the likes of Alison Hammond, Rosie Jones, David Gandy, Jennifer Saunders, Danny Dyer and former contestants Wilf and Maddy accused each other of being Traitors.

Kylie Minogue rocked up at the Ghosts house and revealed that she could see and communicate with the undead, and quickly found them incredibly annoying.

Graham Norton, Sam Ryder and Lulu hosted auditions to be the UK’s latest Eurovision Song Contest entry with auditionees including Fleur East, Gordon Ramsay, six members of S Club 7 and a Dalek singing Daft Punk…

This was the first Comic Relief telethon that Lenny Henry didn’t host, although he appeared in the opening sketch in which he regenerated into David Tennant in true Doctor Who style.
