College baseball coach says he has 'bad luck' during in-game interviews just moments before his outfielder drops a catch... forcing him to take the headset off and end the chat early

Texas A&M's Jordan Thompson missed a fly ball from Arkansas' Peyton Hold Aggies coach Jim Schlossnagle blamed his misfortune on ESPN's Tom Hart DailyMail.com provides all the latest international sports news

Texas A&M baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle has almost always maintained that he’s never been a fan of in-game interviews, and said it again on Thursday right before an Aggies outfielder missed a fly ball.

In the bottom of the fourth, SEC Network broadcasters Dave Neal and Ben McDonald spoke to Schlossnagle when Arkansas infielder Peyton Holt hit what was destined to be an easy out on a fly ball to right field.

And while the ball was still in the air, Schlossnagle seemed to be getting tense.

‘I have bad luck in these interviews,’ he said. Just moments later, right fielder Jordan Thompson failed to catch the ball before it dropped into foul territory.

‘I told you,’ Schlossnagle said.

Amused by what had happened, both sportscasters said their respective goodbyes to Schlossnagle.

The second-year Aggies coach waved his arms out of frustration and took off his headset, ending the interview there and then, prior to returning to his team’s bullpen.

The missed fly ball didn’t impact Texas A&M’s chances of beating Arkansas at the SEC Tournament, as Holt struck out just a few pitches after his foul ball.

The Razorbacks did manage to come back to defeat the Aggies, 6-5.

Kendall Diggs delivered a walk-off home run in the 11th inning.

Texas A&M came out victorious against South Carolina on Thursday, 5-0, and will face either LSU or Arkansas on Friday.

Shortly after his latest in-game interview, Schlossnagle told the SEC Network that he blames the ‘bad luck’ moment on ESPN commentator Tom Hart, who suffered a very unfortunate slip of the tongue live on air while calling a college baseball game on Wednesday night.

‘I like to blame everything that’s ESPN related on Tom Hart,’ the Aggies head coach said.
