The Boston Marathon took place on Monday (April 15), and it was once again an outstanding event. Over 30,000 runners participated in the event, and they deserve all the credit in the world for taking on the 26.2-mile run.
A Boston Bruins legend was among them, as longtime captain Zdeno Chara completed the marathon with an outstanding 3:30:52 time (8:08 per mile). It was Chara’s second time running it, beating his initial time of 3:38:23 from last year.

Since retiring from the NHL at the end of the 2021-22 season, Chara has developed quite a passion for running. He has participated in seven marathons over the last year and is already gearing up for his eighth. The 6-foot-9 Stanley Cup champ will be running the London Marathon on April 21. Needless to say, Chara is still a beast.
Chara put together a remarkable 24-year NHL career because of his stellar conditioning, and it’s not surprising that he is only improving it after hanging up the skates.
It will be fun to see how well Chara does in the London Marathon from here.
