Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya box office collection day 11: Shahid Kapoor-Kriti Sanon’s film enters Rs 100 crore club worldwide

Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s sci-fi romantic comedy, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, has saved face after a mediocre opening. According to Maddock Films, the film has entered the Rs 100 crore club at the worldwide box-office, while its domestic collection stands at Rs 62.5 crore in 11 days of release. According to industry tracking website Sacnilk, the Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah directorial earned Rs 2.25 crore nett on its second Monday, taking its nett total to Rs 60.45 crore.

This marks a much-needed rebound for Shahid, whose last film, the sports drama remake Jersey, bombed badly. His biggest hit remains 2019’s Kabir Singh.

According to Sacnilk the film witnessed an overall 12.17 percent occupancy on Monday. Mumbai saw a 18.5 percent occupancy, thanks to a holiday on the occasion of Shivaji Jayanti. In Delhi and NCR, the occupancy was 10 percent.

The film opened to mixed reviews, with the audiences loving the fresh pairing of Shahid and Kriti and their scintillating chemistry on screen. The Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta gave the film two stars and called it a ‘mish-mash’ of genres. A part of the review read, “For a film which wants to be a family entertainer, there are risible sequences featuring men peering down low-cut blouses-and-bosoms, and tasteless wife jokes. Monty the Hero’s Best Friend does exactly what BFFs have done for decades, make the hero look good: when will this oldest, creakiest device be dumped?”

Shahid will next be seen in Deva, with Pooja Hegde, whereas Kriti will be seen sharing the screen with Kareena Kapoor and Tabu in The Crew.
