Clasificación general del Giro de Italia: dos colombianos en el top 5 de la carrera

Concluida la tercera etapa del Giro de Italia, el esloveno Tadej Pogačar se mantuvo como el líder de la primera competencia grande del año. Sin embargo; el ganador de la jornada que terminó en un explosivo sprint fue el pedalista belga del Quick-Step, Tim Merlier. Fue el más veloz del día y en un feroz ataque desde atrás logró adjudicarse la victoria de la etapa.

El mejor colombiano en la fracción fue el pedalista antioqueño, Fernando Gaviria quien culminó en la novena (9) posición de la jornada. La general no sufrió muchos cambios; sin embargo, Chaves salió del top 10, y solo dos colombianos continuaron entre los mejores diez de la clasificación general. Daniel Felipe Martínez (Bora) es tercero; Einer Rubio (Movistar Team) escaló un puesto, ahora es cuarto y Esteban Chaves (EF Education) cayó dos casillas y ocupa posición once.

Las leves variaciones en los puestos de los colombianos, se deben al puesto en el que cruzaron la meta en la tercera etapa, pues siguen con el mismo tiempo.
