China blames Australia for military aircraft interception
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has hit back at Beijing for blaming Australia over a dangerous incident in the Yellow Sea. An Australian Navy helicopter was targeted by a Chinese military jet which dropped flares into its path. By saying that they were near Chinese airspace is confirmation that there’s no question that the Australian Defence Force personnel were both in international waters and in international airspace. The Australian Government, and specifically the Prime Minister or the Deputy Prime Minister, need to directly and explicitly challenge that statement in an in an open statement, in a public address to make it clear that the Australian Government will not accept. Chinas version of this incident, the opposition is urging the federal government to step up its diplomatic protest.
