Subway unveils a MAJOR shake-up to its menu as it adds THREE new foot-long items (and no, they're NOT sandwiches)

Subway has revealed a major shake up to its menu after introducing three new foot-long items – but none of them are sandwiches.

The fast-food chain took to social media on Thursday to tease the new sweet and savory treats that are part of its Subway Sidekicks series.

It announced that from January 22 its stores will sell a Cinnabon Footlong Churro at $2, Auntie Anne’s Footlong Pretzel for $3 and a Footlong Cookie at $5.

The launch has sent dozens of food fans into a spin over the unveiling and many are now eagerly awaiting the release.

Subway shared tantalizing snapshots of the three upcoming treats alongside a caption that read: ‘Meet our new besties.’

The baked Cinnabon Footlong Churro will be served warm and topped with Cinnabon’s ‘world-famous’ Makara cinnamon and sugar.

Auntie Anne’s Footlong Pretzel is described as reimagining Auntie Anne’s buttery and salty classic – served with a side of Subway’s Honey Mustard ‘that takes each bite to another level.’

Last but not least is the Footlong Cookie, which has previously been rolled out on National Cookie Day, billed as being ‘thick, gooey and packed with chocolate chips.’

Douglas Fry, President of Subway North America, said: ‘The introduction of Sidekicks builds on six decades of equity and expertise in all things footlong.

‘This whole new category on our menu offers Subway fans something they can’t get anywhere else and kicks off a year of culinary innovation and delicious new menu items.

He concluded: ‘2024 may be the most exciting chapter yet in our growth story.’
